do I look like? I’m a straight
rod and can move.
Where can you find me? You
can find me in the lower part of the intestine
of warm blooded animals.
What do I do? One family
of E. coli, 0157, only ten of these are needed
to give you diarrhoea and make you vomit.

various shapes, sometimes with bends that
look like Y’s W’s and V’s.
Where can you find me? You
can find me in the gut of man and animals.
What do I do? I am added to yoghurts
to increase the numbers of good bacteria in
your gut and to make you healthy. |

Where can you find me? You
can find me in the mouth and gut of healthy
people. I can also be added to dairy products.
What do I do? I am added
to yogurts to keep your gut healthy and to
keep the bad bacteria away. |

cell and can occur in chains.
Where can you find me? You
can find me in humans, horses, pigs and cows.
In these hosts I’m found in the mouth,
throat, skin, heart and muscle.
What do I do? Mostly I’m
harmless but I can give you a sore throat
and scarlet fever. |
