Statement 1

Global warming will make our weather more extreme. As the climate changes, extreme weather such as heat waves and hurricanes will become more severe and unpredictable.

Statement 2

Global warming will cause some places to get hotter and drier. Global warming will affect the plants and wildlife living there. If it is too hot, plants may die, and animals will need to move to where plants can survive.

Statement 3

Scotland should stop importing food to solve global warming. It is okay to still send our food around the world though.

Statement 4

Deforestation is helping global warming. Large areas of forests and rainforest are being destroyed to clear the land and provide wood for fuel. Trees help our planet by absorbing carbon dioxide. Cutting down and burning so many trees means the level of carbon dioxide in our atmosphere is increasing.

Statement 5

People should be fined for driving alone in their cars with no other passengers, if we stopped driving everywhere alone it would solve global warming

Statement 6

People should be limited to the amount of international travel they are allowed to do. For example you should only be allowed one international holiday every two years. This would reduce the amount of greenhouse gases produced and would help to solve global warming.

Statement 7

Everyone has the right to be treated the same. People in India should be allowed two cars per house if they want because we are allowed. Any damage to the environment will just have to be accepted. We shouldn’t have to give up our cars so people in other countries can have one.

Statement 8

There is no point planting trees and turning off lights when you leave a room to save energy – the planet is never going to recover.
