Scotland's position on the edge of the European continent with sea on three sides and England with its cold and wet conditions on the fourth side means that the weather is very varied! In June the weather is unpredictable, it can be glorious, but wet and windy conditions are not unusual.
The average high temperature is 16ºC, with the average low temperature being 9ºC.
There are taxi ranks at the train station and airport. A taxi from the airport to the City Centre or the AECC costs approximately £15 – £20. A taxi from the station costs approximately £6 - £10.
Wireless internet access is available at AECC and can be purchased when you are at the conference, or can be pre-ordered at http://www.wifb.net/

Wireless internet access is available in most buildings on the University campus. Visitors from participating institutions can connect to the eduroam network when visiting Aberdeen by using credentials provided by their home organisation. Other visitors will be able to obtain a guest user ID from the conference organisers at the registration desk.

The bus numbers 1, 2, 13 and 40 all run from the city centre of Aberdeen via King’s Street and Ellon Road. A short walk from Scotstown Road to the AECC is required if you take a 1 or a 2, both a 13 and 40 will take you all the way to the AECC. Bus number 20 runs from King’s College Campus to the City Centre.

Ample car parking is available at the AECC. On-campus parking at the University is available if you are staying in King’s Halls.
The official currency of UK is £ sterling. Commonly accepted credit cards are Visa, and Mastercard. Display signs are usually visible in all restaurants and shops indicating which cards they accept.
Travellers' cheques can be cashed at most banks. Most banks are closed on Saturdays and all day Sunday. There are foreign exchange booths at all major airports and in Aberdeen city centre. There is a Bank of Scotland on campus, which has an ATM, this is located in the High Street. There is a full range of Banks in Aberdeen city centre.
